I started skating when I was 6 years old and  have been hooked ever since!

As a young adult, I started skating on a Competitive Synchro team.  Again I was hooked! I loved the challenge of skating on a synchronized skating team and loved the traveling involved to go to competitions.   I competed at Nationals every year in Senior, Junior and Adult categories.  Upon moving to the lovely town of Fruitvale, BC I found myself loving the area but missing my sport…synchro skating.  Since none of the skating clubs in the Kootenays have a synchro skating team, I decided to do some  ice dance to keep my skills up.  It turned out the club needed some coaching help and they asked me if I would like to get certified.

I decided to get my NCCP Level 1 coaching certificate.  It has been very rewarding and I have enjoyed learning the coaching side of the sport.  The best part of coaching is seeing the joy on a child’s face when they “get it”!  I love teaching skaters that love the sport as much as I do! 

I look forward to continuing to learn and enjoy my new career!
